My ceramics project is not painted...?

Its in the machine right now.(forgot what its called) and i was going to glaze it. The problem is.. Since this thursday is the last day of school, the teacher stopped putting the projects in. I still wanna paint mine. But if i use normal paint, will it still look ok? And what kind of paint should i use
